According to the p value found, the null hypothesis was accepted or rejected; in the latter case we concluded that the difference between the groups tested under different experimental conditions was statistically significant; p ⩽0.05 was regarded as statistically significant, p ⩽0.01 as highly significant and p ⩽0.001 as very highly significant.
