Separate analyses, using the probability of a foraging trail having loaded ants, showed that the genus-level differences in loaded and unloaded returning foragers per hour were highly significant (χ 2 1 = 7.567, p<0.01), but that the differences in loaded returning workers between species within genera were not significant (χ 2 4 = 1.257, p = 0.87).
