Based on the screening study, factors including seed age ( x 1 ), inoculums level ( x 2 ), induction time (by measuring the cell concentration at 600 nm; x 3 ), L-arabinose concentration ( x 4 ) and post-induction time (harvesting time; x 5 ) were shown to be highly significant and largely contributed to phytase production (U/mL) produced from recombinant E. coli DH5α (unpublished data).
