Marginally significant positive relationships were found between the proportion of maternal elaborative information-seeking utterances and the size of both the reported [ r (16) = 0.42, p < 0.10] and the observed [ r (16) = 0.43, p < 0.10] productive vocabularies when children were 27 months of age.
