A main effects analysis, using logistic regression, found neither of the principal components for latrine structure and cleanliness to be strongly associated with overall STH infection—which explains why they did not appear in the CIT analysis—but when dichotomized according to the cutoffs identified by C&RT (from Figures 1 ) the resulting indicator variables were highly significant in the regression analysis (results not shown).
