We have now shown that treatment with bevacizumab plus chemotherapy was associated with a rapid and highly significant decrease in the serum concentration of VEGF-A that was independent of the baseline concentration and which, in most cases, remained apparent throughout the duration of therapy, similar to the results of a previous pharmacodynamic analysis of angiogenesis-related factors [ 22 ].
