These adverse effects may not be significant in the realm of the overall studies, but for the individual patient this is a serious loss of quality of life and should be given serious considerations prior to commencing therapies with these drugs. 5α-RIs' therapy, while improves urinary symptoms in patients with BPH and may prevent hair loss in patients with MPHL, this therapy produces significant adverse effects in some individuals including loss of libido, ED, ejaculatory dysfunction, and potential depression.
