Statistical analysis The significance of difference between the two barley genotypes in physiological traits and gene expression was examined using data processing system (DPS) statistical software package, followed by the Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) and the difference at P<0.05 and 0.01 is considered as significant and highly significant, respectively.
