Despite these differences not being significant, most studies show a slight trend toward better vision following penetrating keratoplasty compared to DALK.[ 8 , 19 ] The Anwar and Melles techniques of DALK have comparable visual acuity and refractive outcomes.[ 20 ] The BCVA values obtained were considered good, as 12 eyes (75%) obtained a BCVA ≥ 0.5 logMAR (20/63), which is considered acceptable even after penetrating keratoplasty.[ 1 , 7 , 8 ] Our technique showed comparable CDVA with Anwar and Melles techniques.
