Conclusions A greater understanding of how cancer cells hijack the OSM produced in the microenvironment near normal, premalignant, and fully transformed epithelial cells and block the initial JAK/STAT3-mediated tumor suppression signaling in favor of transformation and increased tumor heterogeneity is highly significant.
