In the USA, a study of 624 patients with SII receiving different treatment regimens showed no conclusive (statistically significant) results regarding the aggressive use of fiberoptic bronchoscopy, although there seemed to be a slight trend toward shorter hospital stays in those who underwent more than one procedure during their hospital stays.
