Choct and Annison (1992) reported highly significant negative correlations between the total pentosan content of the diet and the ileal digestibility coefficients of starch, protein and lipid and Steenfeldt (2001) reported a negative correlation between the dietary arabinoxylan content and the apparent fat digestibility coefficients measured from excreta.
