In summary, herein we report that in sedentary subjects without cardiovascular disease IMAT as well as EAT depots are related with increasing age to a greater extent than observed with waist circumference, and that the positive association of IMAT amount with waist circumference and IAAT is likely to be significant for younger individuals only.
