This suggestion is derived from the following observations as specified below: the radioligand shows a distribution pattern in piglet brain which is characteristic for α7 nAChR, a highly significant correlation between specific binding in vitro and in vivo , a sufficient brain extraction (approximately 30%), an SUV which can be significantly decreased by the specific α7 nAChR ligand NS6740 by 24% to 38%, and a NS6740-induced increase in the clearance rate constant k 2 ′′ estimated by one-tissue-compartment modelling of approximately 30% which is consistent with blockade of a specific binding component.
