As far as patients’ use of resources is concerned, data for 2005-2007 report that patients with diabetes, (COBP) and heart failure followed by doctors involved in the experimentation showed an overall trend for a decrease in the per capita expenditure for outpatient specialist care, hospitalisation and pharmaceutical assistance in the local area. 17 Besides objective indicators, it was considered useful to evaluate GPs’ perception of the project.
