The rate of woody expansion for watersheds with a cumulative number of burns greater than 19 were marginally significant from zero (Mean = 0.33, P = 0.07, T = 2.35, df = 5; Fig. 3 ) indicating that burning regimes implemented more frequently than every 1.6 years may not necessarily prevent woody encroachment.
