The presence of positive (2.2%) may be due to the presence of preclinical infection (presence of microorganisms, but not to the extent of producing disease).[ 10 ] The highly significant positive BANA test reactions for GI scores 2 and 3 suggest a significant correlation between increasing GI scores and putative periodontal pathogens.
