1 According to the published statistics in Iran, its age-standardized incidence rate during 2003 to 2008 was 4.69, 7.16, 14.04, 16.65, and 16.02 per 100,000 men, respectively, indicating an increasing trend of the disease during the above mentioned years. 2 Besides, almost 60% of all prostate cancer cases are diagnosed in men aged 65 years and older and 97% of cases occur in men aged 50 and older .The American Cancer Society suggests that beginning at age 50, the men who are at average risk of prostate cancer, with at least 10 years of life expectancy, need to be screened for early prostate cancer detection.
