Although frequencies of tandem repeats of Glu, Pro and Leu showed an increasing trend in more complex organisms, the frequency increases were much smaller (Leu repeat, <2 fold in human over E. coli ) or inconsistent (Glu repeats), compared to those of Pro repeats ( Fig. 5C ).
