Some traits showed a highly significant degree of sexual dimorphism (q value <10 −4 ); for instance, we found that the castrated males studied in our study tended to accumulate more abdominal fat, leaf fat and intramuscular fat and that they had higher levels of saturated fatty acids in their fat and muscle tissue than females.
