Two previous studies have also suggested that pain-symptom descriptors may be significant predictors of NeP severity. 28 , 29 In those studies, the presence of a higher number of descriptors, as well as specific descriptor qualities, had greater predictive value for more severe pain. 28 , 29 The range of descriptors constituting painDETECT overlaps with those descriptors that have shown predictive ability for pain severity.
