As shown in Table 4 , neither the culture and disengaging positive emotion interaction nor the culture and engaging positive emotion interaction was significant due to relatively small sample size, except for a marginally significant interaction between culture and disengaging positive emotion when mainland Japanese and Hokkaido-born Hokkaido Japanese were compared in the influence condition.
