The exact effect of medication on the brain networks of patients diagnosed with depression remains relatively unknown in these samples and this may be significant as a variety of medications were used, including medications classified as serotonin-specific reuptake inhibitors, e.g., paroxetine, medications classified as serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake inhibitors such as venlafaxine, and drugs classified as tri-cyclic antidepressants such as amitriptyline.
