Our results confirm that there may be significant gaps in the health awareness of these employees, and this may have serious three-fold occupational and public health implications: occupational health hazards of the care staff, health implications of the introduction of a “migrant workforce” into the European workforce market, and at host countries’ population level, such as the reemergence of certain VPDs.
