Compared to the expected frequency of watershed distribution strokes in general stroke patients, this was highly significant: 23/891 (2.6%) versus 13/16 (81.3%), P <0.0001. 12 Of note, 4 patients who presented without any ischemic symptoms still had neuroimaging evidence of silent ischemic injury on neuroimaging, all in a watershed pattern.
