Our results regarding hypertension are in agreement with a prior study by Fuks et al, 23 which found that among 4291 participants of the Heinz Nixdorf Recall Study in Germany, living ≤50 m versus >200 m from a roadway with high volumes of heavy‐duty traffic, there was an association with an odds ratio for prevalent hypertension of 1.51 (95% CI: 0.98, 2.34), which did not quite reach statistical significance.
