The mean BPs at home or at the office did not differ when levels in current smokers ( n =17) were compared with nonsmokers, but there was a nonsignificant trend for a higher mean systolic SMOBP in nonsmokers than in smokers (smokers: 132.3±16 mmHg, nonsmokers: 138.6±19 mmHg, P =0.19).
