3.1 Apoptosis in CD8 + T lymphocytes correlates with systemic iron levels In general, a highly significant difference was found between the CD4 + and CD8 + T-lymphocyte subpopulations in terms of the percentages of apoptotic cells (T Test p = 9.4x10 -8 , KS-Test p = 0.000002), with the average apoptosis percentage being 21.8% ±9.9% in CD4 + T cells, and 47.3% ±21.8% in CD8 + T cells.
