Plotting the nest directions of nests built under control conditions (no RF) in the ambient (intensity: 49.03 μT) and the 90° rotated magnetic field (intensity: 49.20 μT) with respect to magnetic north revealed highly significant bimodal orientation along the north-northeast and south-southwest magnetic axis ( Figure 2a ).
