Taken together these results: (1) a significant relationship between PT metric and the topological features of out-degree and betweeness, and (2) a marginally significant (p-value ∼0.06) similar propensity within interacting genes; support the hypothesis that there is a close relationship between a gene’s placement in the network, or its micro-topological position within a GRN, and its propensity to produce qualitative changes to the AL – at least in the case of the FOS-GRN.
