Although failing to include highly significant DDI can have obvious negative consequences, the permissive inclusion of large numbers of DDI backed by insufficient evidence or of low clinical significance can have a negative impact as well because it can lead to cognitive overload and the inobservance of truly significant interactions [ 13 ], frustrating clinicians [ 26 ] and leading to inappropriate responses [ 27 ].
