Our findings were similar to those of a previous study, which reported an increasing trend in the revascularization rate yet divergent trends according to procedure type. 18 Recent studies in the U.S. show that although the incidence of coronary artery disease is increasing, the revascularization rate, especially the rate of PCI, is decreasing or is unchanged after 2005. 16 20 21 However, the use of the PCI procedure continuously increased during our study period, despite there being no change in health care policy on the use of coronary revascularization procedures.
