If hatch rates were compared between 23 weeks of conventional storage and 22 weeks (5 months) of water storage, differences were extremely significant for both species: 0.1 ± 0.1 versus 84.9 ± 9.8 %, respectively, for Ae. albopictus ( T test, t = 14.9589, df = 4, P < 0.0001) and 3.7 ± 1.2 versus 84.3 ± 4.0 %, respectively, for Ae. aegypti ( T test, t = 33.6313, df = 4, P < 0.0001).
