The benefit of rFVIIa in reducing transfusion requirements should not be generalized to the whole study population, as it is mainly driven by a highly significant reduction in the transfusion of blood products in the cardiothoracic surgery group and this benefit was responsible for continued statistical significance when the whole group was analyzed.
