Regarding weight gain during insulin therapy, consistent with different studies on insulin that showed a strong association with weight gain, either due to hypoglycemia, psychological distress, aging, and water retention, 11 in our study the weight gain before and after treatment was highly significant and similar in magnitude for both groups.
