A highly significant difference in the combination of GSTM1 , GSTT1 null mutation with GSTP1 Ile/Val, Val/Val geno-types were found between the SLE patients (8%) and controls (1.6%), with 8 fold increase in risk of SLE [OR of 8.1, (95% CI= 2.1 to 30.6, P = 0.003)], while other combination genotypes did not show significant association with risk of SLE ( Table 4 ).
