It is known to be related with an increasing trend of gram-positive infections, acquisition of resistance in gram-negative species like E. coli to fluoroquinolone and increased fungal infections, which requires reevaluation of the benefits and adverse effects of antimicrobial prophylaxis 2, 3, 5, 14–18) .
