Highly significant correlation between WHO grade and fluorescence intensity was found. 5-ALA improved the extent of resection in 19 % of the benign meningiomas and in 75 % of high-grade lesions compared to white light, especially in infiltrated brain, around brain vessels, and cranial nerves.
