Interestingly, whereas we did not observe any significant correlation between ADTE and presence/absence of the in-frame uAUGs (Fig G ; P = 0.30, Mann–Whitney U -test; see also Fig EV5 G for ADTE calculated based on the ribosome footprinting data), we found that, for genes with proximal (≤ 100-nt upstream of the main ORF) out-of-frame uAUGs in only one allele, ADTE differed with marginal significance from that of genes with proximal out-of-frame uAUGs in both alleles (Fig G ; P = 0.038, Mann–Whitney U -test; see also Fig EV5 G for ADTE calculated based on the ribosome footprinting data).
