Information of this type is potentially highly significant, since, in FEBID, the decomposition is likely to take place on a substrate surface and within a thin precursor film, rather than via individual isolated molecules in the gas phase. 13 − 15 Thus, the current study can potentially bridge the gap between a purely gas phase study of the DEA mechanism of the Co(CO) 3 NO monomer and a study of the decomposition of a thin Co(CO) 3 NO film.
