Moreover, we found a marginally significant group effect on one of the measures of maternal behaviour during mother–infant interaction: mothers of HR infants tended to display sad affect whilst interacting with their infant (M = 3.91, SD = .54), compared to mothers of LR infants (M = 4.27, SD = .46), although the difference was at trend level only ( t = −2.0, p = .058).
