Although not reaching statistical significance due to reduced patient number, we observed an overall trend toward higher levels in both genders (NDMD males 6.9 × 10 6 ± 0.9 × 10 6 copies/ml and T1D males 9.6 × 10 6 ± 1.7 × 10 6 copies/ml n = 16–23; NDMD females 6.8 × 10 6 ± 0.9 × 10 6 copies/ml; T1D females 12.5 × 10 6 ± 2.7 × 10 6 , n = 22–28).
