After adjustment for age, ferritin, serum albumin, Kt/V and hs-CRP, age (β = 0.099; P < 0.001), serum albumin level (β = 0.409; P < 0.001) and Kt/V value (β = 0.209; P < 0.005) were independent predictors of higher Hb levels, while a higher serum hs-CRP level (β = -0.053; P = 0.056), with marginal significance, was an independent predictor of a lower Hb level on multiple regression analysis.
