Other studies evaluating IL-1 RA genetic polymorphisms in psoriasis found no association (25) or a decreased frequency of IL-1RN allele 2 in patients with late onset psoriasis (age of onset > 40 y), but the finding was only of borderline significance.[ 25 26 ] Essentially, all these studies (including the present study) have demonstrated that an anti-inflammatory IL-1β genotype is more likely to be associated with psoriasis.
