Analysis of the gene ontologies of regulated PCGs shows highly significant enrichments of cell-type specific functional groups for GM12878 (Cell-To-Cell Signaling and Interaction, Hematological System Development and Function); H1ES (Embryonic Development, Developmental Disorder); HeLa (Reproductive System Disease); HepG2 (Carbohydrate Metabolism, Lipid Metabolism); K562 (Cardiovascular System Development and Function, Cell-mediated Immune Response); MCF7 (Breast or Ovarian Cancer) and NHEK (Dermatological Diseases and Conditions), further demonstrating the importance of tissue-specific enhancer predictions.
