A highly significant positive correlation was found between skilled-reaching performance (i.e., average success on the first reach attempt on days 11 and 12) and level of phospho-DARPP-32 at the Thr75 site, but not at the Thr34 or Ser97 sites ( r = 0.848, P = 0.002; Fig 8A ), in the striatum contralateral to the trained forelimb.
