Studying the relationship between the proportion of observed heterozygous profiles and these amplification failures, a highly significant negative relationship was revealed ( Fig 4 ), indicating that the higher the number of failures in a complete genotype, the smaller the observed number of heterozygous profiles among expressed loci.
