With the exception of a borderline significant association between a lower baseline HAMD-17 total score and remission (OR=0.87, 95%CI=0.75-1.00), none of the other factors considered (e.g., age, gender, marital status, age of onset, duration of illness, and number of episodes) were significantly associated with the effectiveness or remission rate after 12 weeks of treatment with duloxetine. 3.3 Adverse effects and use of adjunctive medication As shown in Table 5, about half of the participants in both groups reported one or more adverse effects during the 12 weeks of treatment.
