A decreasing trend of high-density lipoprotein levels was recorded (control = 1.73 mg/dl; non-diabetic = 1.27 mg/dl and diabetic = 1.17 mg/dl), however a reverse trend was found for total cholesterol (control = 4.44 mg/dl; non-diabetic = 4.91 mg/dl and diabetic = 6.37 mg/dl), and low-density lipoprotein (control = 2.31 mg/dl; non-diabetic = 2.83 mg/dl and diabetic = 3.05 mg/dl) blood levels.
