[ 3 ] compared short (within 2 weeks) and long (6 to 8 weeks) interval groups following preoperative radiotherapy (RT) and showed that longer intervals were associated with better clinical tumor response, pathological downstaging, and a nonsignificant trend towards increased sphincter preservation.
